Mr. Charles S. Price, age 94 of Pembroke, passed away on Sunday, September 17th at the Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville of natural causes.
He was born May 9, 1923 in Cardin, Oklahoma the son of Walter T. and Rosa Mae Shelton Price.
He was a retired water and oil well-digger and worked for numerous years as the Water Superintendent for the City of Pembroke. In 1986 the City of Hopkinsville contracted him to dig the well that would water the 248 Bradford pear trees that were being planted at the Gander Memorial Park at the junction of US 41A and Pennyrile Parkway.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife Sara Lowry Price (2012); three step daughters Janice Lowry Hancock (1976), Rebecca Lowry Owen (2011) and Mary Helen Lowry Pendleton (2015). He is survived by one son Charles Ray Price of Richmond, Kentucky; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
