Mrs. Louise Cumbee, age 95 of Elkton, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Hearthstone Place in Elkton of natural causes.
She was born June 21, 1922 in Todd County, Kentucky the daughter of the late George F. and Addie Latham Addison.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a homemaker and retired bookkeeper for Addison Trucking. She loved her family and church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and spending time with family on her front porch.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband George R. Cumbee; two brothers Gaither and Jewell Addison; three sisters Nettie Hooper, Jettie Frogue and Eva Addison; one granddaughter Dorothy Nuusila and one great grandson Scotty Keeling.
She is survived by two sons Gary Cumbee (Nina) and Ernie Cumbee (Patricia) both of Elkton; one daughter Terry Stokes (Billy) of Elkton; two brothers William Addison of Elkton and Wayne Addison of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation with the Cumbee family will be on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 11:00 until 1:00 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Elkton. Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday at 1:00 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Gary Sawyers officiating, Alvin Frogue speaker and Gary Cumbee eulogy. Interment will follow at the Stokes Chapel Cemetery in Elkton.
