Mrs. Veverly Lavina Eldridge, age 61 of Guthrie, passed away on Monday, August 21st at Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green of natural causes.
She was born June 11, 1956 in Elkton, Kentucky the daughter of Alphonso and Cora Leavell Shanklin.
She was a member of the All Nation House of Prayer in Hopkinsville. She was a 1974 graduate of Todd Central High School and graduated from the Kentucky State University in Frankfort. She worked at Red Cap factory in Russellville where she was a supervisor and worked for TGASK in Hopkinsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as three brothers James Wallace, Hubert Lee and Cory Shanklin and one sister Althonia Kirby.
She is survived by a son Sean Eldridge of Austin, Texas; a God daughter Latish Guildersleeve of Clarksville, Tennessee; four brothers Rev. Alex Shanklin (Beverly) of Louisville, Kentucky, Rev. Carston A. Shanklin of Cleveland, Ohio, Ford Shanklin (Claudine) of Russellville, Kentucky and Carston D. Shanklin of New Albany, Indiana; three grandchildren Mia, Ciara and Corey; a sister in law Shirley Shanklin of Louisville, Kentucky; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and six aunts.
Visitation with the Eldridge-Shanklin family will be on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday at 12:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Washington officiating. Interment will follow at the Todd County Meadow Haven in Elkton.
