The Todd County Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mrs. Joyce Ison.
Mrs. Ison, age 85 of Elkton, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, March 25th at the Maple Manor Nursing Home in Greenville, Kentucky.
She was born April 1, 1938, in Perry, Kentucky, daughter of the late Chester and Grace Combs Hatton.
She was a member of the Clifty Christian Church and a retired Registered Nurse. She loved her family, cooking, being outdoors and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Messer and second husband, Ivel Ison as well as five brothers, Larry Hatton, Paul Hatton, Lee Hatton, Bill Hatton and D.C. Hatton and one sister, Wilda Hatton. She is survived by five sons, Mike Messer of Littcarr, Kentucky, Rick Messer of Elkton, Kentucky, Jeff Messer of Sharon Grove, Kentucky, Robert Messer of Louisville, Kentucky and Paul Messer of Elkton, Kentucky; two brothers, Vernol Hatton of Blackey, Kentucky and Boyd Hatton of Isom, Kentucky. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Visitation with the Ison family will be held on Wednesday evening March 27th from 5:00 until 7:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 28th at 2:00 at the Pearl Dickson Cemetery in Blackey, Kentucky.
