James "Crunch" Crenshaw Obituary

James O. Crenshaw, affectionately known as Jimmy AKA “Crunch”, was born on December 28, 1950 in Logan County, Kentucky to the late Charlie Crenshaw and Dorothy Gilbert Crenshaw.  He was the eldest child of his siblings.

Jimmy accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and allowed the love of Christ to flow to others.  He attended Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church and Bank Street AME Zion Church.  He graduated from Russellville High School in 1968 and attended Kentucky State University as well as serving in the United States Army.

On November 18, 2000 he united in holy matrimony to Madeleine C. Bibbs.  This union lasted for 17 loving years.  He was employed with the City of Russellville, Carpenter’s and Colonial Inn in Russellville, Kentucky.  Upon his relocation to Cincinnati, Ohio he was employed with Cottingham Retirement Center and Meadows Nursing Center until his retirement.  He loved making music CD’s and cooking for family and friends.  He was an avid fan of UK (University of Kentucky).  He loved traveling home to the “August 8th Celebrations”.

On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, Mr. James O. Crenshaw began eternal peace and his eternal comfort with Jesus Christ, His Savior.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie Crenshaw and Dorothy Gilbert Crenshaw and his brother Kenneth Ray.

He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife Madeleine Crenshaw, his two sons Cedric and Kelly Crenshaw of Clarksville, TN; and father figure to two sons Stacey and Andre’ Morris of Russellville, KY and two daughters Wynobe Morris of Clarksville, TN and Kristi “Vanay” of Indianapolis, IN with six grandchildren Jazmine and Jamara Trotter of Clarksville, TN, Noah Whittinghill of Bowling Green, KY, Jakaliff and Lemarion Sublett of Bowling Green, KY and Bouvier of Indianapolis, IN; and two great grandchildren Enoch and Elijah Whittinghill of Bowling Green, KY; one brother Howard Crenshaw of Russellville; four sisters Doris (Ray) Leavell, Jackie (James) Benton, Lori (William) Yarbrough and Patricia Crenshaw all of Russellville; two aunts Joann and Shirley Gilbert of Oakville, KY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear relatives and friends.
