Mrs. Revella Groves, age 76 of Olmstead, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 12th at her home of natural causes.
She was born August 25, 1943 in Logan County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Hershel Bellamy and Octavina Browder Bellamy.
She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church where she was a former clerk, secretary, president of the choir, Sunday School Teacher and on the kitchen committee. She loved her family, shopping and singing with the Spiritualettes Group.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as a son Randall Groves (1997); two brothers Hershel and Gary Bellamy as well as two sisters Emma Gaines and Lucille Ellis. She is survived by her husband Melvin Groves of Olmstead; two brothers Anthony Bellamy of Indianapolis, Indiana and George Bellamy of Russellville; five sisters Rose Page of Springfield, Tennessee, Elnora Gaines of Russellville, Audrey Johnson of Venice, California, Mildred Hart of Los Angeles, California and Tanya Lane of Chicago, Illinois; three God daughters Barbara Cross of Russellville, Cynthia Henry of Adairville and Vicky Sydnor of Owensboro; three God grandsons Dakarin Bigby, Keelan Bigby, Jasiah Bigby; two brother in laws James and Cleo Groves both of Nashville; a host of nieces and nephews and a devoted cousin Dot Sydnor.
Visitation with the Groves family will be on Wednesday from 10:00 until funeral service time at 12:00 at the First Baptist Church, 221 South Spring Street, Russellville with Reverend Sammy Spencer Jr. officiating.
Food may be taken to the church after 10:00 on Wednesday for the Repass.
