The Todd County Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mr. Alvin Toliver.
Alvin Clark Toliver, affectionately known as “Al”, who was born on May 19, 1951, in Elkton, Kentucky, to the late A.C. Toliver and Fannie Lois Toliver. He departed this life on May 23, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Baptist Health Deaconess Hospital in Madisonville, Kentucky.
Al, raised in Guthrie, Kentucky, came from a family rooted in faith, service, and devotion. His father, the late A.C. Toliver, proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. Following the passing of his father, Al was lovingly raised by his devoted mother, who faithfully brought him to Saint Paul Baptist Church in Guthrie, Kentucky. There he accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized. He also attended Sunday School, sang in the choir, and developed a lifelong love for music and worship. One of his favorite songs was “This Little Light of Mine,” a reflection of the warmth, joy, and quiet light he carried throughout his life.
He graduated from Todd County High School in Elkton, Kentucky, and later retired from the City of New Brunswick, New Jersey. Al was an entrepreneur with a creative spirit and a deep appreciation for picture prints and preserving meaningful memories. Al was a published author through Christian Faith Publishing. His book “Face God Before You Face the Day”, reflects his faith, encouragement, and desire to inspire others spiritually. He also loved listening to music, gardening, hunting and spending time in nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, David Toliver and Forest Toliver, and one sister, Charlene Toliver.
Alvin leaves behind to cherish his memory, one brother Carl Michael Toliver of Detroit Michigan and three sisters, Jacqueline F. (Toliver) Coleman of Madison, Tennessee, Teresa Toliver of Green Bay, Wisconsin and Yvonne Toliver of New Orleans, Louisiana. Six children, Rev. Tammra (Rev. James) Turner of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Timothy Clark Osborne of Nashville, Tennessee, Rev. Spencer Keith Osborne of Elkton, Kentucky, Janice C. DaCosta of Charlotte, North Carolina, Alan Clark Toliver and Daniel Ray Toliver both of Columbia, South Carolina. He also leaves 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 6th at 12:00 pm at the One Accord Ministries, 489 State Line Road, Allensville, Kentucky with Rev. James D. Turner officiating.
