The Todd County Funeral Home of Elkton is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Miller.
Mrs. Miller, age 89 of Olmstead, passed away on Friday October 21st of natural causes surrounded by her beloved children.
She was born April 16, 1933 in Allensville, Kentucky the daughter of the late Waltus and Bernice Harris Turner.
She was a member of the Gills Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, served as the Deputy Todd County Court Clerk with her husband for many years, she opened her home as a foster parent to over 250 children and she also served as a Child Advocate. At the age of 72 she graduated from the Miller Mott College in Clarksville where she earned her degree in Massage Therapy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Gill Miller, one grandson, Andrew “Cheston” Miller and one great grandson, Michael Hilbert. She is survived by three sons, Andrew G. Miller Jr. (Rhonda) of Guthrie, Waltus Miller of Olmstead and William Keown of Elkton; four daughters, Victoria Cook of Nashville, Bonnie Ferguson (Robert) of Clarksville, Sandi Sager (Craig) of Clarksville and JoAnn Perry (Kevin) of New Palestine, Indiana; two brothers, James Turner of Guthrie and John Turner of Ocala, Florida; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a wonderful friend, Macon Lewellen.
Visitation with the Miller family will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Day officiating with interment to follow at the Todd County Meadow Haven.
