Dorothy Jean Steeley, age 80 of Guthrie, passed away on Tuesday morning, July 14th at the Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee of natural causes.
She was born November 20, 1939 in Todd County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Fort Washington and Deanes Covington Sales.
She was a member of the Guthrie Church of Christ. She loved her family and flower gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Jim Steeley; a son Kenny Waldrop; a daughter Missy Powers; a brother Joe Sales and two sisters Mary Bell Clevenger and Katherine Sales. She is survived by two daughters Connie Taylor of Guthrie and Tina Emberton (Dewayne) of Clarksville, Tennessee; a brother Billy Sales of Nebraska; two sisters Marcelle Burpee of Clarksville, Tennessee and Betty Poor of New Mexico; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation with the Steeley family will be on Sunday from 12:00 until funeral service time at 2:00 at the Guthrie Church of Christ with Josh Kee officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Guthrie.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be given to the Guthrie Church of Christ.
Due to the Coronavirus (Covid19) there will be limited capacity. It is required that if you attend the visitation or service that you wear a mask and refrain from shaking hands and hugging as well as social distancing and keeping six feet apart.
