The Cook-Webb Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mr. Douglas Leavell.
Mr. Douglas Leavell, age 91 of Guthrie, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green.
Mr. Leavell was born July 7, 1933, in Trenton, Kentucky son of the late Baker and Myrtle Wheeler Leavell.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he fought in the Korean War, a Kentucky Colonel and was retired from the State Road Department. He loved his family, working in the shop, mowing and sitting on the porch.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife, Pauline Leavell; one son, Wayne Leavell; one brother, John Leavell and one sister, Ann Korando. He is survived by three daughters, Deborah Davenport and husband, Larry of Clarksville, Tennesse, Pamela Redfern of Guthrie and Patricia Turgeon of Guthrie; one brother, Austin Leavell of Paducah; one sister, Ruth Hall of Louisville; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation with the Leavell family will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 12:00 until 2:00 at the Cook-Webb Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted at 2:00 in the chapel of the Cook-Webb Funeral Home with Shane Hessey officiating. Interment to follow at the Highland Cemetery.
