Obituary

The Todd County Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mr. Dwight Payne Smith.  

 

Mr. Dwight Smith, age 74 of Minooka, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, August 1st at the Park Point Nursing Home in Morris, Illinois.  

 

He was born September 22, 1948, in Knoxville, Tennessee son of the late Gilbert and Anne Brodgan Smith. 

 

He was a member of the Second United Methodist Church, retired from the Knox County School System, served as a baseball coach for many years and he played baseball for Austin Peay State University. 

 

He is survived by his wife, Joan Cox Smith of Minooka, Illinois; one son, Shane Smith (Caroline) of Channahon, Illinois and four grandchildren.  

 

Visitation with the Smith family will be held from 10:00 until funeral service time at 11:00 on Saturday, August 12th at the Trenton Presbyterian Church with Reverend Mike Bourland officiating. Interment to follow at the Edgewood Cemetery.
