Esther Fay (Borders) Dickinson

The Todd County Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mrs. Esther Fay Borders Dickinson.

In memory of Esther Fay Borders Dickinson, beloved wife and mother, who passed on to glory at her home, on Saturday, January 3, 2026.

Mrs. Dickinson was a national board-certified teacher, held in high regards by both former colleagues and many of her students, whom she had met during her seventeen years of teaching at Todd County Middle School. She taught different subjects over her career, but she was most well-known for her time as a history teacher, where she was able to unite her love of history and passion for education into a singular purpose.

Mrs. Dickinson was often in the garden, canning and preserving her harvest, and looking after her chickens. A voracious reader from a young age, she often spent her free time reading novels and non-fiction. In her later years, she came to enjoy video games, and doing so allowed her to connect all the better with her students.

Esther was born October 10, 1960, in Madisonville, Kentucky daughter of Edd Wayne Borders and Willo Johnson Borders.

She is survived by her husband of forty years, Warren James Dickinson; her son, Houston Borders Dickinson and her daughter-in-law, Teri Lee Trumitch Dickinson; her mother, Willo J. Borders; her sisters, Naomi Borders and Ruth Farwell (William) and a nephew, Jordan Borders (Laurel).  Mrs. Dickinson was preceded in death by her father, Edd Wayne Borders.

Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, January 11th from 12:00 until funeral service time at 2:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Pastor Holz officiating.
