The Todd County Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Eunice Ellis.
Mrs. Eunice Ellis, age 73 of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, May 22nd at her home.
Eunice was born August 5, 1951 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky daughter of James Williams, Sr. and Orelya Ann Moody Williams. She was the 5th of 10 children.
She was a devoted member of the Guildfield Baptist Church where she served on the Kitchen Committee, Usher Board and the Guildfield Mass Choir. She retired from Emerson Electric after 30 years and then she started babysitting and caring for several elderly in the community.
“Pinky” or “Mama Eunice” as she was also affectionately known as had a heart of gold and a smile that lit up any room. Her love and kindness were displayed throughout the community from arranging kickball games and dances for the youth to taking meals to the elderly, sick and shut-in. She was loved by everyone she came in contact with. She was the mother and God Mother to so many in the community and there was not a child that didn’t have some kind of relationship with her. She had a love for walking, shopping, reading, watching her stories and baking cakes that everyone loved. She will be missed by so many.
She was united in marriage to John Ellis, Jr. on August 15, 1971 and to this union two sons was born Mark Ellis and Monty Ellis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandmother, Elizabeth Moody and a brother, Clifford Williams. She leaves to mourn her passing husband, John Ellis, Jr. of Clarksville, Tennessee; two sons, Mark and Monty Ellis both of Guthrie; a devoted God son, Mark Fisher; two sisters, Shirley McCoy of Kokomo, Indiana and Bruetta Williams of Guthrie; six brothers, Henry Williams (Judy) of Kokomo, Indiana, James Williams, Jr. (Elise) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Raymond Williams (Deborah) of Elkton, Clyde Williams (Ruthell) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Phillip Williams (Yvonne) and Wayne Williams both of Guthrie; a sister in law, Diane Williams of Guthrie; seven grandchildren, Mark Ellis, Jr. “Bubba”, Andriana, Caleb and Thailiah Ellis, Kendre Bell, Destiny Garrett and Demauria Green and thirteen great grandchildren. Also surviving are a host of God children, nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the Ellis family will be on Friday, May 30th from 11:00 until funeral service time at 12:00 at the Guildfield Baptist Church with Pastor Allataye Russ officiating.
