The Cook-Webb Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mr. John "Hootie" McCarter.
Hootie McCarter, age 44 of Guthrie, passed away on Sunday, May 11th at his home.
He was born June 23, 1980 in Springfield, Tennessee son of Ricky McCarter and Sheila Majors Mackey.
He was a member of the Keysburg Baptist Church where he was baptized thirty-three years ago. He enjoyed doing mechanic work and building remote control cars.
Hootie was a child of God and of his parents, Ricky McCarter of Lewisburg and Sheila and husband, Tom Mackey of Guthrie. He is also survived by his partner, Lori Pitts of Guthrie; two sons, Joe Strange of Russellville and Kris Strange of Guthrie; one daughter, Harley Strange of Guthrie; one sister, Malissa Hughes of Evansville, Indiana and his grandmother, Shirley Davenport of Guthrie. He is an uncle to his nephew, Charlie Hughes of Evansville, Indiana. He is a nephew to, Keith Majors (Dee), Mark Majors (Jan), Kathy Stalnaker (Ed), Wendall McCarter (Dorothy) and Carolyn Scott all of Allensville, Roger Majors (Marie) of Oak Grove, Kentucky, Douglas Shepherd of Guthrie, Connie O'Neal (John) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Kimberly Reisinger (Jr) of Westfield, Pennsylvania and Michael Shepherd (Patricia) of Daysville and a cousin to, Amber, Nikki, Michael, Jessica, Lisa, Rachel, Amanda, Kenny, Danny and April.
It was the request of Hootie to be cremated. There are no services planned at this time.
