Jonathan Wayne Cage

Jonathan W. Cage, age 56 of Russellville, KY, left his earthly home on Monday, September 13th at the Baptist Health Deaconess Hospital in Madisonville, KY.

Jonathan was born on April 2, 1965 to Frances Cage of Raleigh, NC and Eugene Hampton, Jr. (Gayle) of Russellville, KY.

Jonathan was baptized at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Olmstead, KY at an early age. He was a people person and never met a stranger. He had good conversations for young and old, alike.

Jonathan graduated from Russellville High School in 1984. He excelled in the love for football, bringing Russellville Panthers to a lot of victory and championship games. He later attended Morehead State University for 4 years in Morehead, KY.

Jonathan was a dedicated worker. On his days off, you may find him fishing, another sport he loved.

Jonathan loved his family. Growing up in a single parent household, he was always there for his mom and brothers.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Gillie B. Cage and his paternal grandparents, Ruth "Mape" and Eugene "Jenny Boy" Hampton, Sr., all of whom he loved very much.

Jonathan leaves to mourn are his children, two sons, Jonathan Calais Taylor and Victor Hampton both of Russellville, KY; three daughters, Shatamera Jackson of Charlotte, NC, Sheena Taylor of Raleigh, NC and Victoria Hampton of Bowling Green, KY; six grandchildren, MaKhya Taylor and Nigel Hampton both of Bowling Green, KY,  JoNathan Taylor, Alazia Hampton, A’kelia Hampton and Alexx Hampton all of Russellville, KY; maternal grandfather, Edward A. Cage of Russellville, KY; four brothers, Jeff Cage, Jermaine Johnson (Tiffany) both of Raleigh, NC, Tony Hampton (Sonya) and Timmy Hampton (Vanity) both of Russellville; one sister, Connie Hampton of Atlanta, GA; a host of very special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, September 18^th from 11:00 until funeral service time at 1:00 at the Russellville High School Auditorium in Russellville, KY with Pastor Perryn Dillard officiating. Interment will follow at the Russellville Memorial Gardens.
