Meralean Treadway Obituary

Meralean H. Treadway, age 86 of Elkton, passed away on Saturday, January 11th at Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville, Kentucky of natural causes.

 

She was born June 8, 1933 in Louisville, Kentucky the daughter of the late Rev. Millard Wilburt and Viola Almetia Bruederle Hazelip.

 

She was a member of the Dallas Gospel Church in Dallas, Texas and of the Elkton Gospel Church in Elkton.  She was a piano player for many years for her father who was a pastor in San Antonio, Texas and she operated a daycare out of her home before she retired.  She loved people, singing, playing piano and dining out.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Wallace Treadway; a son Dale Treadway and a daughter Vanessa Treadway Morton. She is survived by three grandchildren Elizabeth Speaks of San Antonio, Texas, Hanna Morton of Athens, Texas and Tyler Treadway of Pasco, Washington; two nieces Kelly and Alyssa Carter both of Newton, North Carolina; nephew Austin Carter of Newton, North Carolina; several cousins and special friends Timothy and Debbie Hughes whom she lived with for the past 18 months.

 

There will be a Memorial Service on Wednesday, January 15th at 5:00 at the Elkton Gospel Church, 221 Allensville Street, Elkton with Pastor Timothy Hughes officiating.  A graveside service and inurnment is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday, January 18th at 1:00 at the Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas.
