The Cook-Webb Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mrs. Mildred Sue Toombs.
Mrs. Mildred Toombs, age 76 of Adams, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, December 27th at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mildred was born December 23, 1948 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky daughter of the late Charlie Sargent and Mary Atkins Sargent.
She loved her family and loved to travel. She was very active in her church and was an advocate for higher education.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Sargent. She is survived by her husband, John Toombs of Adams, Tennessee; four sons, Jeremy Toombs of England, John Paul Toombs of Kentucky, Elijah Toombs and Jack Toombs both of Adams, Tennessee; a daughter, Emilee Toombs of Adams, Tennessee; three sisters, Nannie Gene Hays of Texas, Susan Betts of Hopkinsville and Charli Goetz of Huntsville, Alabama and two grandchildren, Benjamin and Samuel Toombs.
Visitation with the Toombs family will be on Friday, January 3rd from 1:00 until 8:00 and again on Saturday, January 4th from 9:00 until funeral service time at 11:00 at the Cook-Webb Funeral Home in Guthrie, Kentucky with Bro. Travis Hartle officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Guthrie.
