Robert “Bob” Lee Colbridge Sr., age 89 of Elkton, passed away on Friday, August 27th at the Greenview Medical Center in Bowling Green after a battle with Covid.
He was born July 23, 1932 in Dayton, Ohio the son of the late Calvin Thurman and Francis Eubanks Colbridge.
He served in the US Army where he was in the Korean War and received the Purple Heart Award. He loved his family, gardening, yard work and carpentry. The family wants to extend the importance of getting the vaccination for Covid after seeing their loved one suffer from this terrible infection.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy, Calvin and Lloyd Colbridge and two sisters, Janice Malco and Alice Beals. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Colbridge of Elkton; three sons, Bobby Colbridge Jr. of Russellville, Kenny Colbridge of Elkton and Jim Colbridge of Columbia; a daughter, Sharon Baker of Hopkinsville; one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 11:00 until funeral service time at 1:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Rev. Autry Moore officiating. Interment will follow at the New Cedar Grove Church Cemetery in Elkton.
