The Todd County Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mr. Russell Clardy, Jr.
Russell Clardy, Jr., age 70, was born on June 29, 1952, in Trenton, Kentucky. He is the son of the late Russell Clardy, Sr., and Mattie Sue Leavell Clardy. Russell passed away of natural causes at Tennova Hospital in Clarksville, Tennessee on Monday, June 19, 2023.
Russell attended Todd County Central High School in Elkton Kentucky. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. After high school he worked in the fields with his father and at Electrolux in Springfield, Tennessee. After several years of working for the manufacturer, he was able to retire.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Anthony Wayne Clardy; one brother, Billy A. Clardy and two sisters, Joanne Sadler and Faye Clardy.
Survivors include three sons, Jeffrey Clardy (Tameka) of Springfield, Tennessee, Tavion Shemwell of Bowling Green and Antonio Fitzgerald of Guthrie; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; five sisters, Bessie Cross of Trenton, Carolyn Fort (Rev. Fred) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Dorothy Green (Tyrone) of Guthrie, Gayle Clardy of Trenton and Leslie Clardy of Hopkinsville; three brothers, Anthony Wilson, Terrance Wilson, Anson Wilson (Tahnesha) all of Hopkinsville; two aunts, Bessie Carpenter and Mollie Johnson; a sister-in-law, Melba Clardy and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service is scheduled to be conducted on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 11:00 at the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor G.C. Morrow and Rev. Fred Fort officiating.
