Thelma Louise Kilgore Foster was born on November 1, 1933, in Montgomery County, Tennessee to the late Carney “Muleman” Sydney Kilgore and Martha R. Allan Kilgore.
Journey of Everlasting Life…
Mrs. Foster departed her journey of life on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 11:34 pm.
Journey of Faith…
Mrs. Foster confessed her faith at an early age. She joined in with the Peagram Baptist Church in Tennessee. Once married she submitted to her husband and became a member of the Mt. Zion CME Church of Guthrie, Kentucky until her health failed.
Journey of Labor…
Mrs. Foster loved her children and family. She took pride in caring for her family members when they were sick. We always knew we could count on her. She was also a dedicated member of Mt. Zion. Out of her life she only had two jobs, Tiny Town Motel and at Emerson Electric for 7 years. She loved to cook. She would make the best chocolate chess pie and many loved them. She also loved to shop and fish. If you said “Go”, mom was ready.
Journey of Education…
Mrs. Foster attended Round Pond School in Round Pond, Tennessee. She obtained an 8th grade education. She used to walk to school and didn’t attend in the winter months.
Journey of Matrimony…
Mrs. Thelma was united in matrimony to Thomas Henry Fuqua. One child was born to this marriage a son, William Thomas Fuqua. Later she joined in matrimony to Horace Byers Foster, and 3 children were born, Karl, Vivian and Angela.
Journey of Remembrance…
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William Fuqua and Horace Foster; her sons, Karl Foster and William Fuqua; her sisters, Mary Williams and Ruby Davis and her brothers, Willie Kilgore, Robert “Fox” Kilgore, Clyde Kilgore and Lewis Kilgore.
Journey of Survivors...
Mrs. Thelma leaves to forever cherish her memories, her beloved children, Vivian Webb (Sammy) of Louisville, Kentucky and Angela Grinter (Larry) of Elkton; a step daughter, Georgia Fuqua of Columbia, Tennessee; a sister, Linda Craig of Clarksville; a sister in law, Willie Marie Kilgore of Guthrie; two daughter in laws, Sharon Fuqua and Rachael Newby both of Louisville; seven grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, eighteen step great grandchildren and a host of step great great grandchildren. Also surviving a devoted grandchild of the Learning Ladder Child Development Center, Jonathan Flores; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A devoted, caring and loving family - The Foster Family.
Visitation with the Foster family will be on Friday, May 22nd from 10:00 until funeral service time at 12:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 2:00 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.
