Vera "Rusty" Sue Sharkey

The Todd County Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mrs. Vera Sue “Rusty” Francis Sharkey.

Sue “Rusty” Sharkey, age 85 of Evansville, Indiana and formerly of Elkton, passed away on Sunday, June 4th at the Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.  

She was born April 25, 1938 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky daughter of the late William and Annie Naylor Francis.

She was a member of Christ Chapel Pentecostal Church. She was an award-winning artist, she loved her family and loved working with stained glass and doing woodcarving.   

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas William Sharkey as well as five brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Sharkey of Evansville, Indiana; a son, Michael Sharkey of Indianapolis, Indiana and a daughter, Katherine Whittaker of Elberfeld, Indiana.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 10th from 11:00 until funeral service time at 1:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at the Kirkman Cemetery in Allegre, Kentucky.
