Virginia Nell Lear

The Todd County Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mrs. Virginia Lear.

Mrs. Virginia Lear, age 87 of Elkton, passed away on Saturday, February 11^th at the Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville of natural causes.

She was born May 19, 1935 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky daughter of the late Holbert and Thelma Deason Rager. 

She was a member of the Stuart Chapel UMC. She loved her family, cooking, sewing and especially enjoyed Christmas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Everett Miller of 18 years as well as her second husband, I.G. Lear of 30 years; two sons, Hugh Russell Miller and Joe Miller; a daughter, Pam Butkovich; two brothers, Claude and Rocky Rager and two sisters, Debbie Shelton and Betty Wells. She is survived by one son, Mike Miller (Diane) of Elkton; three brothers, Gilbert Rager of Westchester, Illinois, Jack Rager of Kannapolis, North Carolina and Dean Sutherland of Cicero, Illinois; three sisters, Linda Loope of Nashville, Tennessee, Lila Baily of Northlake, Illinois and Marsha Hester of Hopkinsville; six grandchildren, Joe and Clayton Miller, Jessica Jones, Shane and Kevin Miller and Angie Slaughter; eleven great grandchildren and a special friend, Brian Mayes of Elkton.

Visitation with the Lear family will be on Tuesday, February 14^th from 5:00 until 7:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home.  Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday, February 15^th at 11:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Reverend Clarence White officiating. Interment to follow at the Glenwood Cemetery.
