The Cook - Webb Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mr. Wavel Garth Hale.
Mr. Wavel G. Hale, age 90 of Guthrie, passed away October 2nd at his home.
Wavel was born on January 28, 1934, in Van Buren County, Arkansas son of the late Taylor Franklin Hale and Bertha Z. Scarberry Hale.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son. Wavel is survived by his partner of 30 years, Lucille Marshall, two sons and a daughter.
Wavel was a retired lineman for PG&E, a US Navy Veteran, an avid reader, a talented conversationalist, a lover of art (especially theatre), and an unflappable advocate for those he loved. Throughout his life, Wavel was perennially amused that a coworker once described him as “a self-styled outlaw who makes his own rules.”
Wavel will be greatly missed by all those who were lucky enough to know him.
There will be no public services. It was Wavel’s wish to be cremated and interred at the Highland Cemetery in Guthrie.
