Mr. James Alva Swindle, Sr., age 79 of Nashville, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 at his home due to cancer.
He was born July 24, 1937 in Nashville, Tennessee the son of Henry and Francis Robinson Swindle. He enjoyed doing mechanic work and joking around.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Bobbie Swindle of Nashville, three sons Jimmy Swindle of Bradyville, Tennessee, Ricky Leach of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Daniel Leach of Erie, Pennsylvania; three daughters Tina M. Swindle of Nashville, Vivian Manley of Whitehouse, Tennessee and Deborah Leach of Nashville; one brother Henry Swindle of Kingston Springs, Tennessee; two sisters Shirley Lowe of Nashville and Bonnie McCroskey of Scottsboro, Georgia. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation with the Swindle family will be on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 with funeral service time at 7:00 at the Faith Independent Methodist Church, 417 Ezell Pike, Nashville, Tennessee 37217 with Shane Hessey officiating. There will be no interment after the funeral as the family has chosen to do a cremation after the service.
