Shane is the owner of both the Todd County and the Cook-Webb Funeral Homes. Shane has dedicated his life to the funeral homes and to Todd County. With over 29 years of experience, Shane has a deep passion for the business and working for the families. From a very young age he had the dream of owning a funeral home so he could provide the level of service that a family deserves at the time of death.
In addition to funeral service Shane worked as a Forensic Death Investigator for the State of Tennessee and Davidson County for a number of years. Shane is dedicated to both the Todd County & Cook - Webb Funeral Homes, as the only funeral home owner in Todd County, he thinks it is important to be involved with each family. Ford Shanklin is a native of Todd County and now lives in Russellville. He is the son of the late Alphonso & Cora Shanklin and is the 5th of 7 siblings. He is a 1966 graduate of Todd County Central High School and is a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War and received a purple heart.
While he was living in Todd County he served on the Elkton City Council, Todd County Housing Board, Todd Co. Ambulance Service, Todd Co. Rescue Squad and many more. He has been in the funeral business for over 35 years where he started with Novice Martin at Martin Funeral Home. He has been with Todd County & Cook-Webb funeral homes since 2010 where he did his apprenticeship and is now a licensed Funeral Director.
He has been married to Claudine Flowers since February 26, 1972. They have 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Olmstead where he serves as a deacon.
Office Administrator
Anita Harris is a native of Todd County. She is the daughter of the late Bobby Graham & the late Linda Thomas. She is a 1986 graduate of Todd County Central High School.
She has been employed with Todd County & Cook-Webb Funeral Homes since 2011 where she is the Office Administrator. She loves serving and helping the families as they go through this difficult time.
She has been married to Travis since October 10, 1987 and together they have 3 sons Kristian, Justin (Kirsten) & Zack (Kimmy) and 4 grandchildren Ethan, Liam, Braiden & Kya.
She attends New Life Worship Center in Elkton where she sings and plays the drums as well as she travels with her husband and sings Southern Gospel Music with the gospel group Living By Faith.
Former Owner, Funeral Director and Embalmer
Mr. Martin the previous owner of the Martin Funeral Home passed away on April 29, 2015. He was available when families would ask for his assistance at the Todd County Funeral Home. Mr. Martin sold Martin Funeral Home to Shane Hessey in 2003.
Mr. Martin and wife Izeta Martin were the owners of the funeral home for 32 years and are proud of the changes and the growth of the funeral home. Mr. Martin was an active member of the Petrie Memorial United Methodist Church.
Former Owner, Funeral Director and Embalmer
Mr. Webb, was better known in the community as "Billy Cook" he had a lifetime of funeral experience. The Cook-Webb Funeral Home was established in 1910 by his grandparents. "Billy Cook" dedicated his life to the families of Guthrie and will be missed for many years to come.
