Mr. Charles E. Johnson, age 90 of Fairview, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville of natural causes.
He was born April 27, 1927 in Todd County, Kentucky the son of the late Abe and Maggie Naylor Johnson. He was a member of Stokes Chapel Church and was a World War II veteran with the United States Navy. He retired from the Todd County Detention Center and he loved his family, farming and mowing.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as five sisters Louise Wilson, Virginia and Mary Griggs, Irene Cain Street and Elizabeth Johnson and one granddaughter Kimberly Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years Betty Johnson of Fairview; three sons Doug Johnson of Washington, Bill and Richard Johnson both of Fairview; two daughters Peggy Henault of Fairview and Susan Johnson of Elkton; one brother Arthur Johnson of Elkton; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation with the Johnson family will be on Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Monday at 2:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Chapman and Rev. Eddie Cain officiating. Interment will follow at the Stokes Chapel Church Cemetery.
